Welcome on board!

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. Inadequate health care has a huge impact on the lives of Malawians, and in particular those living in isolated rural areas. Our aim is to bring health care to towns and villages around Lake Malawi.

To do this we need to transport clinical staff by boat to get to villages along the Lake where there are no roads and access to health services.

Our current plan involves renovating Africa's oldest motor ship - the MV Chauncy Maples - to become a clinic-ship. In the last six months we have encountered new technical problems and increased costs. As a result we are currently reviewing the options to achieve our aim of bringing healthcare to the villages of Lake Malawi, while at the same time examining the best way to use Chauncy Maples.
